Industrial Crating, Packaging & Shipping Support Nationwide

Industrial machinery crating, protective packaging and shipping preparation coordinated for projects throughout the United States, including export-bound equipment. We build each assignment around the equipment, the facility, the schedule and the project outcome. Rather than treating each activity as an isolated transaction, we coordinate the specialized industrial contractors and services required for a coherent scope of work.

Protect the machine—not just the outside of the crate

Industrial crating should reflect the equipment being shipped, its vulnerabilities and the handling it will encounter. A large machine tool may require a substantial base and positive restraint, while a sensitive instrument may need vibration isolation, moisture protection or special handling. The objective is not to build an unnecessarily elaborate wooden box. It is to engineer an appropriate protection and support system that travels with the equipment through each stage of the move.

Site-built and off-site packaging solutions

Crating work may be completed at the customer facility, at a staging location or at a specialized packaging shop. Machine Logistics can coordinate disassembly, securing movable axes, removing accessories, tagging components, wrapping, blocking, bracing and constructing custom skids or crates. Dimensions, lifting access and transportation mode matter. Oversized equipment may need open skids or engineered supports rather than conventional enclosed crates.

Preparation for domestic moves and overseas export

Although our project teams operate nationwide, some of the machinery we prepare will travel internationally. That distinction matters: nationwide service describes where we can organize the work, not a limit on shipment destinations. When export is involved, packaging plans can account for ocean transit, humidity exposure, handling transfers, marking and applicable wood-packaging requirements. Shipment documentation and import rules must be verified for the actual destination and cargo.

Crating coordinated with rigging and transport

Packaging is most effective when it is planned together with equipment removal and loading. A crate that cannot pass through a doorway or be safely handled by the available forklift can create unnecessary delays. We consider the removal sequence, lifting points, package footprint, truck or container limits, staging areas and final destination requirements. When required, our cooperating teams can also arrange machinery rigging, truck loading and freight coordination.

Cost-conscious engineering for valuable industrial assets

Overbuilding can add material, labor, shipping cube and handling costs without improving protection. Underbuilding can expose equipment to damage and costly delays. We favor fit-for-purpose designs: sturdy foundations, correct restraint, accessible handling points and protection matched to the risk. Early equipment photos, dimensions, weights and shipping plans help define a sensible scope and avoid last-minute surprises.

How a project moves forward

First, send an equipment list or brief project description, photographs, known weights and dimensions, origin and destination, timing and any special access constraints. We review the requirements, identify the trades and handling methods, and establish an appropriate project scope. Where necessary, a site visit or additional technical information helps resolve unknowns before a firm proposal is prepared. The goal is a practical, coordinated path from planning to execution—not a lengthy form at the first point of contact.

Common questions

Can you arrange crating at our facility?

Yes. We can assess single-equipment assignments as well as larger multi-machine projects. The scope and participating trades are tailored to the specific requirements.

Do you crate machinery that will ship overseas?

Where appropriate, we coordinate the relevant specialized contractors within a defined project plan. Individual responsibilities and exclusions are established before work begins.

Is every machine best shipped in a fully enclosed crate?

Our model is project-based and location-flexible. Feasibility, availability, destination rules and scope are reviewed for each assignment.

Discuss your project

Tell us what equipment is involved, where the work will take place and when it needs to happen. Contact our team by telephone, direct email or the short website inquiry form. If you already have drawings, spreadsheets, photographs or a nondisclosure agreement, you can reply to our initial email with those files. We will review the scope and outline the next practical step.
